ABOUT THE CONCERT
Twilight at Dawn (2024) is a chamber work by American composer Devin Cholodenko, whose music explores the role of tonality in the twenty-first century. The piece lingers in the fragile threshold between night and day, when light first breaks through darkness—music of hesitant, searching, luminous gestures that invites the listener to dwell in the mystery of beginnings. Originally conceived for string quartet, it is heard here in a version for flute quartet—flute, violin, viola, and cello—performed by CreArtBox. Cholodenko's works have been taken up by a range of chamber ensembles across the United States.
