ABOUT THE CONCERT

Noctum Concerto is a concerto for flute and clarinet with chamber ensemble and electronics by Marcos Fernandez, running about twelve minutes. It grows out of Noctum, the chamber opera Fernandez composed as resident composer of Cre.Art Project, the European forerunner of CreArtBox, a story of magic and fantasy in which dream and reality meet. Barcelona-born and based between Madrid, Barcelona and London, Fernandez trained as a pianist at ESMUC, studied composition at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and film-music composition at London's Royal College of Music. He writes for projects where image and narrative call on music to complete the story, in an atmospheric, cinematic idiom.
